How To Stop Procrastinating
The best way to get things done is to get started. Procrastination has become prevalent not only among adults stuck with a job they despair but also among teens like me who get tons of homework and assignments to do. This post is solely dedicated to learning how to use your time efficiently and actually get stuff done.
1. Find a Workstation
A particular nook which you devote to the completion of your assigned tasks and make it comfortable enough to sit for hours and move mountains is the primary step towards beating the urge to give way to laziness, but do make sure the Workstation is not too comfortable or it may give way to an inevitable nap.

2. Look for Motivation
It is very important to ask yourself, why are you entitled to do a particular task? Will it make you get a promotion? Help you ace your exams? Facilitate the process of making you get an admission in your dream University? The motivational factor is the main catalyst to get things done. If possible, surround yourself with posters, pamphlets, photographs or even quotes which will keep reminding you to work hard and stay persistent.

3. Remove Any Potential Distractions
Distractions include the things which make you feel demotivated and give you reasons to not give your full attention to the task you need to get done with. I personally like to put on my headphones and play some classical music, it helps to rewind and freshen up your mind to focus better. You can check out this link to discover the same and stay concentrated. Also make sure to mute your phone or put it on airplane mode, more on this in the next bullet.

4. Use Your Gadgets The Right Way
This is something which has helped me a lot to improve my study habits and stay on top of my work. Using our phones or tablets to play games, watch YouTube or just use social media to drain our time is the root cause of the procrastination which hinders our growth. There are many ways through which we can use our gadgets to enhance our productivity. I use an app called 'Forest' which helps me to keep track of the time I've spent in doing numerous tasks which require my consistent attention. You can grow your own forest by the means of focusing on things which matter and live effectively, you can even control manually, the apps which you want to be restricted from using while the focusing timer is ticking. Click here to download the 'Forest' app.

5. Break your Working Time Into Chunks
If you find it hard to study for an hour straight or devote all your attention on a specific thing for long durations, then you may require a different way to manage your time. The pomodoro technique is an excellent way to do this. To learn more about the same click here. Give yourself enough breaks, as per your preference and don't force yourself to do extra stuff or else it would end up as a burden on you.

6. Get A Planner
A very traditional yet effective way to get things done and meet all your deadlines with a big smile and wave of satisfaction is to get a planner. A planner would not only help you to remain productive in your work-life, it would also aid you to be as active as ever in your personal life. Choose a planner which meets your requirements and criteria of organisation and watch yourself boom with success. A good planner should include To-do Lists, Monthly Spreads, Diet Record and Excercise Record. You can even make your own planner or bullet journal, as you like it!

7. Prioritise Your Tasks
If you aim to complete 10 tasks in a day, choose, maybe, some 4 or 5 tasks which you'd like to mark as priority, make sure you know the ones which are of more importance. Keep in mind, the deadlines, time required to complete the task and your own motivation towards doing the tasks. It is better to be done with those which you're not motivated enough for, first, to avoid any lags afterwards.

8. Always Reward Yourself
Rewarding yourself is quite underrated to be honest. You can reward yourself in the smallest of ways, like going for a walk after reading two chapters, playing your favourite instrument for 30 minutes after devoting your attention to the given task for an hour. The rewards should be highly personalized to your liking and preference, for they are entitled to provide you joy and relaxation after learning to avoid procrastination and bring out the best in you.
